38 YEARS !!!!

Wow, has it really been that long. 38 years ago today Ed and I were married in the Cardston, Alberta Canada Temple. The only people there were my mom and dad. As my memory serves me we went to a little resturant afterwards and had chicken fried steak. I can't believe it has all gone by so fast. I came home from our honeymoon a new wife and a mom to a little 4 year old boy. We had a nice little house in the country that cost us $50.00 a month. We lived there for about a year and then bought a new single wide trailer that cost us $99.00 a month. We put it on a little piece of property next to mom and dad. It was fun living there because Ed worked with dad and worked close to home. Nick went with Ed most of the time and was quite the little worker. It took me 5 years to get pregnant and then we had 4 kids in 4 years. After a 5 year rest we had Tyson. In that time we had changed out the single wide for a double wide then sold that and moved to Moses Lake for 3 years and back to Warden. In our marriage we have had 7 different homes and a zillion different cars. I only left Ed one time and my mom told me to go back home and make things work. That was the best advice I ever got. Life has been a roller coast ride - lots of laughter, tears, and love. Out of this 38 years we were blessed with 6 beautiful children - 15 wonderful grandchildren and one on the way (so far) and 5 awesome daughter in laws (one future daughter in law) I joke about the things Ed does that irk me but he has been a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He has given me a wonderful life and beautiful children. I can describe our marriage with the quote "it was the best of times - it was the worst of times." But we have weathered many storms and lived to tell about it. I love him more today that I did 38 years ago and all I can say to all of you is marriage is hard work, but so worth it in the end. When in your older years you not only have a husband-you have a best friend. Happy Anniversary Ed!
